Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday forecasted mild heatwave in the western part of the country in next 24 hours, commencing from 9am.
A Met Office bulletin said that a mild heat wave may sweep over the western part of the country.
It also predicted rain in different parts of the country.
"Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions," the bulletin added.
The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperatures may rise by 1-2°C over the country.
