Modi greets Tarique Rahman, Bangladesh ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, underscoring shared values and the enduring bonds between the two neighbouring countries.

In a message sent ahead of the festival, Modi conveyed his wishes on behalf of the people and government of India to Rahman and the “brotherly people” of Bangladesh on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Highlighting the spiritual significance of the period, Modi noted that Muslims in India and across the world had spent the past month observing Ramadan through fasting and prayer.

He said the celebration of Eid serves as a reminder of the timeless values of compassion, brotherhood and togetherness, expressing hope for peace, harmony, good health and happiness for people worldwide.

The Indian premier also expressed optimism that the bonds of friendship and camaraderie between India and Bangladesh would continue to grow stronger.

The message concluded with Modi conveying his highest consideration to his Bangladeshi counterpart.
