The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold its final election rally on Sunday, February 8, in the capital ahead of the upcoming national election.
The rally will take place at the party’s central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan area at 2:00 pm. BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman is scheduled to address the gathering as the chief guest.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed shared the information with reporters on Thursday morning following a joint meeting at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
Rizvi said all preparations for the rally have been completed to ensure its success. He added that BNP chairman Tarique Rahman will speak at the event and the party candidates from Dhaka and surrounding areas will also attend the event.
Expressing optimism about the peaceful election environment, Rizvi said voters are expected to be able to exercise their franchise freely and without fear.
He further said the BNP has historically come to power with the support of the people and claimed that the party has remained resilient despite what he described as severe repression.
“The people of the country see the sheaf of paddy not merely as a symbol, but as an emotion. Inspired by that spirit, people will cast their votes on February 12,” Rizvi said.
