Ali Riaz appointed chief coordinator for election, referendum awareness campaigns

Ali Riaz, Special Assistant to the chief adviser, has been appointed as the chief coordinator for public awareness campaigns related to the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum.

The information was disclosed in a letter signed on Wednesday by Mohammad Abdul Wadud Chowdhury, director general (Administration) of the Chief Adviser’s Office.

After the formation of the interim government, Ali Riaz initially served as the head of the Constitution Reform Commission. He was later appointed as the vice-chairman of the National Consensus Commission, formed to implement the recommendations of six reform commissions.

The tenure of the Consensus Commission ended last October.

Through discussions with political parties, the commission prepared the national charter in July. Following this, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus appointed Ali Riaz as special assistant.
