Nearly 6,000 arrested in Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2

A total of 5,949 people have been arrested so far under the ongoing nationwide Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, the Home Ministry confirmed.

The large-scale operation is going on involving extensive vehicle checks across multiple areas to curb illegal activities.

During the operation, police searched 20,333 motorcycles and 17,923 cars. As a result of the searches, 356 illegal motorcycles were seized for violations related to registration and other legal requirements.

Authorities stated that the operation is ongoing and aims to strengthen law enforcement, improve public safety, and crack down on criminal activities.

The nationwide security drive was relaunched on December 13 to curb illegal activities, recover unlawful arms, and strengthen law and order ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary elections.
