A day of state mourning will be observed on Saturday following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Manch.
On the occasion, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, as well as educational institutions, government and private buildings across the country and at Bangladesh missions abroad.
The announcement was made by Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus in an address to the nation on Thursday night. The Cabinet Division later issued a notification in this regard.
At the request of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, special prayers were held in mosques across the country on Friday seeking forgiveness for the deceased. Similar prayers were also organised at other religious institutions.
