Health officials on Tuesday said they recorded 421 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts, killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded deaths of three dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8am today," a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, adding his office simultaneously recorded 421 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts during the same period.
According to the DGHS statistics, one died in the areas with purview of the Barisal division and two in the Dhaka South City Corporation.
"Out of the 421 fresh cases, 64 were hospitalized in Barisal division, 63 in Chittagong division, 73in Dhaka division excluding capital, 72 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 75 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 30 in Khulna division, 31 in Mymensingh division, 12 in Rajshahi division and one in Rangpur division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts in Bangladesh this year, 401 deaths have occurred, while the disease has inflicted 98,705.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and afflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
