BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia’s condition remains unchanged, with the medical board — including specialist physicians from the United Kingdom — keeping her under intensive observation in the CCU.
Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan conveyed the update on Sunday night, citing her personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain.
At around 8:45 pm, Zahid said there was “nothing new to say” regarding Khaleda Zia’s current condition and that any decision would be communicated once taken.
The party had requested prayers from the public for her recovery.
Khaleda had been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka since November 23. A team of doctors from London and China had already joined the medical board overseeing her care.
Although plans were made to take her to London for advanced treatment, the board had yet to approve the move considering her physical condition. Party sources said an air ambulance provided by the Qatar government will land in Dhaka once the medical board gives the green signal.
