The well-marked low over southwest Bay and adjoining Sri Lanka coast intensified into a depression over the same area at 6am on Thursday.
It is likely to move north-northwestwards and intensify further. The ridge of the Sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and the adjoining area, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The cyclonic storm "Senyar" over the Strait of Malacca and adjoining area weakened into a deep depression over the same area near latitude 3.6°N & longitude 99.2°E on Thursday morning.
It is likely to move southeast or eastwards and weaken gradually, according to the BMD.
Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country for the next 24 hours commencing 9am on Thursday.
Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the same period.
