BCC to remove sacrificial waste within 8hrs

Barisal City Corporation (BCC) has announced the deployment of 700 sanitation workers to remove sacrificial waste within six to eight hours during this year’s Eid-ul-Azha.

Yusuf Ali, the sanitation officer of Barisal City Corporation, said that approximately 200tons of sacrificial waste are removed every year and the manpower and logistical arrangements made this year are consistent with previous efforts.

In addition to 10 trucks, three loaders and three water-spraying vehicles will also included in the waste management operation.

To support disinfection- 1,000kg of bleaching powder will be used.

Furthermore, to ensure centralized disposal of waste, 5,000 waste bags are being distributed across the city’s 30 wards.

Authorities are optimistic that with coordinated efforts, all waste will be removed within six to eight hours of the sacrifices, keeping the city clean and hygienic.
