The government has relaxed the process of getting passports.
“To improve the quality of security services, the provision of obtaining a police report for issuing a passport has been relaxed,” said Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in his budget speech.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presented the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, amounting to Tk7,89,999 crore, in a televised speech on Monday.
Salehuddin also said that Bangladesh has introduced e-passports in 59 missions abroad and initiatives have been taken to introduce e-passports, e-visas and e-travel permits in all missions of Bangladesh.
“E-gates with sophisticated technology have been set up at various check posts to introduce an automated immigration system,” the adviser said.
