The government has exempted the income generated by the National Pension Authority's own revenue and the beneficiaries' income from the universal pension scheme from income tax.
At the same time, income derived from the "Zero Coupon Islamic Investment Certificate" will also be exempt from tax.
In this regard, the Finance Adviser Salehuddin said: "Providing tax exemptions is a timely measure to make the universal pension system sustainable and attractive."
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presented the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, amounting to Tk7,89,999 crore, in a televised speech on Monday.
