PPP Authority’s divisional conference showcases investment potential

The Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) successfully organized its Divisional Conference on Thursday at Bangladesh-China Power Company Ltd (BCPCL), Patuakhali, with the goal of unlocking regional investment opportunities through the PPP model.

The event brought together key stakeholders from both government and industry.

PPP Authority CEO (Secretary) Muhammad Rafiqul Islam attended as chief guest, while Divisional Commissioner Mohammed Rayhan Kaosar chaired the session.

Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner Md Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin joined as special Guest.

In his address, the chief guest emphasized the government’s readiness to offer large tracts of unused public land—particularly in the southern coastal region—for renewable energy projects, focusing on solar and wind energy.

He also highlighted the area’s rare natural feature—locations such as Kuakata, where both sunrise and sunset are visible from the same point—as a unique advantage for tourism investment under the PPP framework.

The conference reaffirmed the PPPA’s strategic role in driving sustainable and inclusive development through well-structured partnerships.

The authority encouraged private investors from the Barisal division to take advantage of streamlined procedures and robust policy support to help build the next generation of energy and tourism infrastructure in Bangladesh.

Divisional and district-level officials from various public departments were also in attendance.
