Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain said that people must be inspired by the practice of fasting to suppress their animalistic instincts.
"Otherwise, they will lose their dignity and become like animals," he added.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a prayer and iftar gathering organized by the BCS Administration Academy in Shahbagh, Dhaka, on Tuesday.
He emphasized that if the heart is purified, the family, society, and the state will also be purified.
The religious affairs adviser further said that women are the mothers of the nation, and those who disrespect and mistreat them are nothing less than hyenas and vile beings.
He also remarked that the recurring incidents of rape are merely the execution of a long-planned blueprint to destabilize the country.
He warned that the masterminds behind these conspiracies would soon introduce new agendas and urged the people to remain vigilant.
