Advance bus ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr will begin on March 14, with tickets available for travel during the seven days leading up to Eid (March 25 to 31), according to the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association.
The association’s acting general secretary, Shubhankar Ghosh Rakesh, said passengers will be able to purchase bus tickets both online and at ticket counters.
However, many transport companies will exclusively sell tickets online this time, Rakesh added.
Regarding fare control, he said no additional charges beyond the fixed fare will be allowed.
He mentioned that transport owners have been instructed to sell tickets strictly according to the fares set by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
To ensure a smooth Eid journey, the owners' association will deploy a monitoring team at the terminals, Rakesh said.
"Special security measures, including video recording before departure, will be implemented, particularly for night coaches."
