Asif Mahmud: Youth inspired by Abrar Fahad in July uprising

Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said that the youth of the nation drew inspiration from Abrar Fahad to sacrifice their lives in the July uprising.

"They took to the streets to free the country from aggression. Finally, we forced Sheikh Hasina, the strongest pillar of foreign dominance in Bangladesh, to flee the country,” he said.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Shaheed Abrar Fahad Stadium in Kushtia on Thursday afternoon.

Asif Mahmud said: “Abrar Fahad added a new chapter to the long struggle against aggression. We wanted to continue this fight with him as our guiding force. Abrar Fahad is not just a name; he represents a journey in the anti-aggression struggle. One of the major achievements of that journey is the July uprising.”

Honoring the thousands of martyrs and the wounded from the July uprising, the adviser said: “The people of Bangladesh and future generations will remember those who sacrificed their lives in the long fight against fascism and aggression, including Abrar Fahad. That is why the Kushtia District Stadium has been named after Abrar Fahad. Additionally, we will rename other government establishments across the country after the brave souls and martyrs who made sacrifices for this nation.”
