ICT Chief Prosecutor: Verdicts will halt Awami League leaders' outbursts

International Crimes Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam has said once verdicts are delivered in some cases, outbursts and arrogance of leaders of the ousted Awami League regime will come to an end, leading to an improvement in law and order.

Tajul made the remarks while speaking to journalists at a workshop on law enforcement, human rights, and environmental concerns in the changing national context, held at the Primary Teachers Training Institute in Rajshahi, on Monday afternoon.

He said trials in several cases against key figures of the previous administration are set to end before December.

"By March, we will receive investigation reports on multiple cases. Once these reports are in hand, the formal judicial proceedings will commence. We expect the trials to move into full swing, including witness hearings, from April or May.

“We assure the nation that several cases will be concluded before December. We urge the public to remain patient."
