Yunus for ensuring security, development to establish non-discriminatory state

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has emphasized the importance of ensuring both security and development to establish a just, integrated, and non-discriminatory state.

In a message marking the 45th National Assembly of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP), which will be celebrated on Wednesday, Yunus said: "Security and development are essential to create a just, integrated, and non-discriminatory state."

He praised the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP for their immense potential in ensuring both security and development.

As an auxiliary force, they extend to the grassroots level of administration, providing an effective network to build a secure social structure, uphold fundamental rights, establish social development systems, and deliver services directly to the people.

The chief adviser highlighted the key role of the Ansar and VDP in maintaining law and order, rescuing disaster victims, and providing relief across the country.

He said their contribution to the ongoing reforms aimed at building a new, discrimination-free Bangladesh.

Yunus pointed out that over 50,000 Ansar members are currently working to maintain security in institutions like industries, financial institutions, and hospitals.

The force’s visible role extends to creating an investment-friendly environment and providing security to the country’s diplomatic missions, helping to maintain Bangladesh’s image abroad.

The chief adviser expressed hope that the inclusive steps taken by the Ansar and VDP to employ youth and develop them as entrepreneurs will lead to even greater public involvement in the future.

"I wish the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP continued progress, prosperity, and a strong role in the nation-building activities," he concluded.
