Shafiqul Alam: Distributing Awami League leaflets will lead to arrest

Those who distribute Awami League leaflets will be arrested, said the chief adviser’s press secretary, Shafiqul Alam.

He made this statement on Monday evening at a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.

The press secretary said: "Our strict message is that those who carry out programs in support of the fallen government will not be spared. The writings on Awami League’s leaflets are highly objectionable. Therefore, those distributing these leaflets will be arrested."

He also commented that the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council has been spreading false information and propaganda regarding minority persecution after August 5.

He said: "The Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council has claimed that 23 people have died in various incidents after August 5, which is false information. Additionally, they have reported 174 incidents, which are also incorrect. Police investigations did not find evidence supporting these claims."

At the time, Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar and Senior Assistant Press Secretary Faiz Ahmed were present.
