The Ministry of Public Administration has announced that it is now accepting applications for reconsideration from candidates excluded from the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) recruitment process.
This decision follows the issuance of a directive on Thursday, which opens the opportunity for all excluded candidates to apply for a review.
Subsequently, 2,064 candidates were appointed, as per the notification issued on October 15.
The notification mentions that after its issuance, questions were raised about the acceptability of these appointments from various perspectives. To ensure transparency in candidate selection and restore trust in government recruitment processes, a decision was made to reverify the pre-character records of all 2,163 recommended candidates through state intelligence agencies NSI and DGFI.
Reports regarding the suitability or ineligibility of these candidates were obtained from NSI and DGFI.
According to the reports, adverse comments (objections or non-recommendations) were received for 227 candidates.
Due to these adverse comments, these 227 candidates were temporarily deemed ineligible for appointment, and further investigation into their cases was decided.
It was also announced that reconsideration applications from the 227 candidates temporarily deemed ineligible are being accepted.
Notably, the notification excluding some successful candidates from the 43rd BCS appointments has sparked discussions.
Many have expressed their opinions on social media platforms like Facebook, and the excluded candidates have been vocal about the issue.
