BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff, who passed away on Friday, at the age of 83.
In a statement sent to the media on Friday, Tarique Rahman said: "I express my deep sorrow and sympathy to the bereaved family of Hassan Ariff, adviser to the interim government and a distinguished legal expert, on his passing. His departure has created a void in the country, especially in the current political situation, as we lose such an experienced and wise legal mind.
"His contributions to the legal profession will remain forever in the hearts of his colleagues and the next generation of lawyers. His views on the rule of law will continue to serve as a source of strength and inspiration for democratic political parties," Tarique Rahman added.
"I pray for the eternal peace of Hassan Ariff's soul and extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, admirers, followers, and well-wishers."
