The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted rains in parts of Bangladesh including in Dhaka division from Friday amid the winter, which may further intensify the cold weather.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions in 72 hours from 6am on Friday, reads a met office bulletin issued on Tuesday.
A low-pressure area lies over central parts of the south Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, its associated trough extends up to North Bay, it said.
The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining areas.
The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies over the country.
Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Light to moderate fog may occur in places from midnight till morning.
The country’s lowest temperature was recorded in Tetulia at 9.01 degrees Celsius.
