Rehman Sobhan advocates dialogue for political crises resolution

Professor Rehman Sobhan, renowned economist and chairman of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), said all political crises should be addressed through constructive dialogue.

He made the comment at a discussion held at the Brac Centre in Mohakhali, Dhaka on Sunday.

Reflecting on CPD's 30-year journey, Professor Sobhan highlighted the organization’s efforts to ensure government accountability through dialogue.

He also highlighted CPD’s role in promoting quality governance, a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable development.

The event, titled “The CPD Journey: Commemorating Thirty Years of CPD,” marked the organization’s three-decade milestone.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus said the CPD's research and public awareness activities played a huge role in creating the mindset for the recent student uprising.

He also said that the research organization has always been involved in establishing a democratic, just, and accountable society.

He wished CPD's greater role and success in the coming days for the needs of the country.
