Internet service to be disrupted for 3 hours on Sunday

Maintenance work to fix a fault in the country’s first submarine cable system (SMW4) in Cox’s Bazar will result in a three-hour disruption of internet services across the country starting Sunday night.

On Saturday (November 30), the state-owned Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCCPLC) confirmed the matter.

According to the authorities, maintenance will take place from 3am to 5:59am on early Sunday (December 1) night (a total of 2 hours and 59 minutes) at the Chennai landing station and the Tuas landing station in Singapore, as part of efforts to resolve the cable fault on the SIMEU-4 system.

During this period, services through the circuits connecting Cox's Bazar to the Chennai and Singapore routes via SIMEU-4 will be temporarily disrupted.

BSCCPLC sincerely apologizes for the temporary inconvenience to customers during this time.
