Sarjis: Martyrs and injured uprising victims’ list to be published by December 31

A complete list of those martyred and injured during the July-August mass uprising will be published by December 31, said Sarjis Alam, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and General Secretary of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation.

He made the statement on Thursday during a press briefing at the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation office.

The briefing, jointly organized by the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation and the Ministry of Health, focused on the roadmap for measures taken to assist the injured heroes of the student-public uprising.

Sarjis Alam said: “The full list of martyrs and injured individuals will be released by December 31. Verifying the information about martyrs from the injured is relatively easier. We are collecting data from those who have not yet been able to provide it.”

At the event, Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, brother of martyr Mugdho, said: “Currently, families of the martyrs are receiving a one-time compensation of Tk5 lakh, and the injured are receiving Tk1 lakh. Depending on their condition, the injured will be provided Tk3 lakh each.”

He added: “However, those who have spent more than Tk3 lakh on treatment will be reimbursed if they can present the necessary documents.”
