For the past 16 years, efforts are underway to normalize the “Jai Shree Ram” slogan through ISKCON.
By using this slogan, the BJP has murdered countless Muslims. This is a political slogan for the extermination of Muslims in India. The slogans ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and ‘Jai Bangla’, ‘Jai Bangabandhu’ are essentially synonymous, said Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi.
He said these things at a press conference organized at Dhaka University’s TSC on Monday.
Inquilab Mancha has demanded for the immediate formation of an independent commission to reveal the financial sources of ISKCON.
Additionally, they have called for the interim government to take action regarding ISKCON, in light of a rally in Chittagong, provocative statements, and an ultimatum given to Editor Mahmudur Rahman.
Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi presented these demands.
Although ISKCON operates as an NGO, it has not undergone any audits for an extended period, leaving its income and expenditure sources unknown.
Sharif Osman Bin Hadi urged for clarification today on whether ISKCON is a political or religious organization, as no religious organization would threaten to blockade Dhaka without being a political party.
“They claim to be a religious organization, yet they threaten to paralyze Dhaka like a political party,” he said.
“They conduct all their gatherings in a manner akin to political parties.”
Sharif Osman pointed out that ISKCON uses the slogan “Jai Shree Ram” at all their gatherings, stating that he grew up among many Hindus, always seeing 'Durga' or 'Kali' temples nearby, but has never encountered a 'Ram' temple or heard the slogan "Jai Shree Ram."
He further stated, “‘Jai Bangla’ and ‘Jai Bangabandhu’ have been used as justifications for bank heists, murders, and oppression. Similarly, ‘Jai Shree Ram’ has served the same purpose in India. Thus, these are equivalents.”
Sharif Osman urged religious scholars not to fall into ISKCON’s trap. He warned that if they take to the streets against ISKCON or its activities, they will use footage to play the minority victim card
He said: “They will attempt to show the world they are oppressed. You must counter them intellectually.”
Calling for legal action against ISKCON, he mentioned reports of Tk1.3 billion being given by Harsh Vardhan Shringla in Sylhet and Savar.
“If they can publicly give such large amounts, it’s easy to infer what they might be giving secretly.”
He noted that local Sanatanis in Dhaka have complained about ISKCON creating fake land deeds to seize property. He asked the government how ISKCON has been allowed to operate under which laws or ministries.
He urged the government to promptly form an independent commission regarding ISKCON. He added that if these measures are not taken, they will consider pursuing legal avenues and filing a writ in court.
