Ferry operations have resumed on the Daulatdia-Paturia route in Rajbari and Manikganj after a 2-hour-and-45-minute suspension due to dense fog.
Early on Sunday, at around 4:45am, ferry services were halted as visibility decreased significantly on the river due to the heavy fog, causing inconvenience to passengers, drivers, and vehicles waiting to cross.
Operations returned to normal at around 7:30am once the fog cleared.
The dense fog also disrupted launch services along the same route.
BIWTC Daulatdia terminal Branch Manager (Commercial) Salah Uddin, said that sudden thick fog over the Padma River had interrupted navigation.
Currently, 12 out of 16 ferries are operating on this route due to a reduced number of vehicles.
