Two people including a student on Tuesday received injuries as security forces fired bullets on protesters trying to break the barricades in front of President Mohammed Shahabuddin's official residence Bangabhaban.
Meanwhile, another protester was injured due to sound grenade fired by security forces.
The incident occurred around 9:30pm on Tuesday.
The injured people have been rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of police camp at DMCH, confirmed the matter.
The gunshot victims were identified as Faisal Ahmed Bishal, 24, and Shafiqul Islam, 45, while the individual injured by sound grenades was identified as Arif, 20.
Protesters gathered in front of Bangabhaban on Tuesday afternoon demanding the resignation of President Mohammed Sahabuddin.
At around 8:20pm, a group of protesters attempted to break through the barricades to enter Bangabhaban.
The army tried to control the situation, and sound grenades were used to disperse the protesters, causing them to scatter.
