Dr Abdur Razzaque, a member of the Advisory Council of the Awami League and former agriculture minister, has been arrested from the Eskaton area of the capital.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police, arrested him on Monday night.
This was confirmed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
He stated that Abdur Razzaque was arrested around 7:45pm from the Eskaton area of the capital.
He is accused in multiple cases.
A murder case was filed against 56 people, including Abdur Razzaque, former state minister for commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu, and five former MPs, in connection with the death of a 10th-grade student who was shot during the anti-discrimination student movement in Tangail.
