In the anti-discrimination student movement, Manik Mia Shaharik Chowdhury, 26, a Chhatra Dal leader from Munshiganj, was shot in the head and lost his life on August 5 in Chankharpul, Dhaka.
Following this incident, a case was filed by Raju Ahmed, 30, in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court against Sheikh Hasina and 79 others for murder.
The court directed the Shahbagh police station in Dhaka to register the case as an FIR.
"I want justice for my son's murder," Anis said.
"In that case, I will file a case myself. But the person named Raju, who has filed the case, is not a relative of ours. We do not know him. According to the address provided in the case documents, we went to Mirpur to search for him, but no one by the name of Raju lives there."
Anis also expressed concern that many innocent individuals have been named as accused in the case, saying: "Because of this case, the police might harass innocent people. Therefore, on
October 5, I filed a general diary at Munshiganj Sadar police station to inform the police about this matter."
Khaleelur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Munshiganj Sadar police station, said that the victim's father has filed a general diary, which may be included in the case documents.
However, he said the ongoing case will proceed according to the court's directives.
Shaharik was the secretary of the Chhatra Dal of Mirkadim Municipality.
The case has drawn significant attention as it names high-profile figures, including Sheikh Hasina, Junaid Ahmed Palak, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, journalist Naimul Islam Khan, and former MP Mrinal Kanti Das from Munshiganj Sadar-3, along with several BNP supporters from Mirkadim Municipality, Dhaka, Lakshmipur, and Nilphamari.
The court has accepted the case and transferred it to the Shahbagh police station for further proceedings.
