Bank accounts of Taposh, family frozen

The bank accounts of former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh have been frozen.

At the same time, the bank accounts of his wife and son and their private interests have been suspended.

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) on Monday sent instructions to the banks and financial institutions of the country and ordered them to freeze their accounts.

The BFIU directive further states that for the suspended accounts, all related information or documents, such as account opening forms, KYC, and transaction statements, must be sent to the BFIU within two working days from the date of the letter.
