Islamic scholar Mizanur Rahman Azhari returns to country

Islamic speaker Mizanur Rahman Azhari has returned to the country.

He announced his arrival on Wednesday via his verified Facebook page.

In a post, he wrote: "Alhamdulillah, I have safely arrived back in my beloved homeland. May the Most Merciful bless this return."

In a separate post, Mizanur Rahman Azhari's uncle, Mosharraf Hossain, shared a photo of him welcoming Azhari with flowers at the airport.

He said: "Alhamdulillah, our beloved leader is now in our beloved homeland, Bangladesh."

Mizanur Rahman Azhari has been in Malaysia since 2020. Earlier this year, following the mass uprising in August, he announced his intention to return to the country.

In a message on his Facebook page, he wrote: "Many have messaged me and called to ask when I will return to the country. I want to tell them that I will be returning soon. I am also looking forward to meeting you all. I want to meet you soon in a Bangladesh that is free and just, built on equality and humanity."

He further added: "I respectfully remember those martyrs who made the movement successful with their fresh blood. I pray for the forgiveness of their souls and wish for the quick recovery of the injured. I extend my greetings to those who are leading the movement against inequality and are still enduring hardships."
