The Kazipara metro rail station is set to reopen after two months on Friday, following repairs that cost around Tk20.5 lakh.
Mohammad Abdur Rouf, managing director of DMTCL, which operates the metro rail, shared this information during a press conference on Thursday.
Additionally, the metro rail will start operating on Fridays from this week.
Metro rail services were suspended on the afternoon of July 18 following acts of vandalism and arson during protests calling for reforms to government job quotas.
The Kazipara and Mirpur-10 stations were attacked the next day.
Although services resumed on August 25, these two stations remained closed.
On July 27, then-minister of road transport and bridges Obaidul Quader told reporters that the Kazipara and Mirpur-10 metro stations had been destroyed and it would not be possible to bring in the necessary equipment and make these two stations operational within a year.
Around the same time, DMTCL said it would cost around Tk350 crore to repair and reopen these two stations.
