Dhaka University authorities have announced a drive to remove "outsiders" from the campus.
In this context, Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed announced on Wednesday that the drives would start right away.
Students have been instructed to carry their identity cards while on campus, as part of the new measures.
In the announcement, "outsiders" refer to "vagabonds involved in activities that violate university rules," Proctor Saifuddin clarified.
However, the campus will remain open to visitors and alumni.
The proctor also mentioned that access to certain areas, such as Mall Chattar and the inside of the TSC building, may be restricted.
Outsiders are already banned from entering Curzon Hall.
However, alumni are permitted entry inside the hall sections with specific authorization from relevant authorities.
