Metro rail operation fully restored

After resolving technical issues, metro rail services have finally resumed. On Wednesday at 8:25pm, the capital’s residents were once again able to use this convenient form of transportation.

The matter was confirmed in a Facebook post by Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).

The Facebook post said: “After resolving the technical issues, metro rail services from Uttara North to Motijheel resumed at 8:25pm. The metro rail authorities sincerely apologize to esteemed passengers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption in service.”

Earlier in the day, the authorities discovered that a bearing pad or spring had shifted from beneath one of the metro rail viaducts, causing a slight misalignment of the viaduct’s route.

As this posed a safety risk, an immediate decision was made to suspend metro rail services on the Agargaon-Motijheel route.
