Mamunul: Protect all communities to create discrimination-free society

Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Maulana Mamunul Haque said on Saturday that to build a discrimination-free society, all communities people must be protected.

"We have to maintain the victory of the revolution of the students and people in July-August. No violence, including communalism, can be done in the country. We have to maintain communal harmony. To build a society free from discrimination, we have to provide security to people of all communities.

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest in Bogura on Saturday afternoon.

He said that ousted ex-prime minister Sheikh Hasina is plotting a deep conspiracy against the country by sitting in India.

The people of the country should come together to counteract her manipulations, he said. The people of the country should be united against any of her conspiracies, he added.

Mamunul also rather bizarrely claimed that the country's Hindus "intend to exploit the situation" by demolishing their temples themselves, but that "will not be allowed". He offered nothing by way of evidence for this claim.

"Sheikh Hasina should be brought back to the country and tried," he said.

"She has done politics to try her father's murder, and innocent people have been hanged in the name of justice," Mamunul further said, adding that Hasina has laundered lakhs of crores taka from the country.

That money should be brought back. Other leaders of the Awami League must be tried. The violence against innocent people at the border must be addressed. Everyone must stand firm in defending their newfound freedom.
