Nahid: Govt receives list of 728 people killed in student movement

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam said that so far, the list of 728 people wh killed in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has been received by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The victim’s families are being contacted, he said at the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.

Besides, the number of injured is 20,263. The number is being verified and the deputy commissioners have been directed to get a final list by next Sunday.

Regarding the meeting to commemorate the deceased, the advisor said, the memorial meeting of the deceased will be organized after the list of dead and injured is finalized.

Regarding the budget for the commemoration, the adviser said that Tk5 crore has been allocated for this event.

The majority of the cost of accommodation including bringing the families of the victims to Dhaka will be spent from this money, he added.
