Members of joint forces have detained 14 people in connection with vandalism, attacks on garment factories in Savar and Ashulia in Dhaka and unrest in the garment sector.
They were detained in joint drives from different areas of Ashulia and Savar on Thursday night.
The identities of the detainees could not be known immediately.
Members of the Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Army, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a joint operation in Savar's Ashulia in the last few days in connection with attacks, demonstrations and vandalism.
Dhaka Superintendent of Police (SP) Ahmad Muyeed said: "We have detained a total of 14 people who are suspected to be involved in the attack and vandalism of garment factories as well as creating unrest in the industrial area."
He added that the involvement of the detainees in the chaos is also being investigated.
