Revolution 2024: Commission on student deaths by Hasina dissolved

The commission formed by the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina to investigate the deaths of students during anti-quota movement in July has been dissolved.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Tuesday canceling the commission as per a presidential order.

The order, signed by Cabinet Secretary Mahabub Hossain, states that the three-member investigation commission, established by SRO No. 280-Law/2024 on August 1, 2024, has been annulled.

The notification also said that the order will be effective immediately.

It is noted that the three-member commission was formed on August 1 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The commission was chaired by Justice Khondker Diliruzzaman of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, with members Justice K M Jahid Sarwar and Justice Shawkat Ali Chowdhury.
