Brac Bank has announced a substantial contribution of Tk5 crore to the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) to bolster their ongoing rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected regions of the country.
This generous donation, supported by the bank’s Board of Directors, reflects Brac Bank’s commitment to helping communities in times of crisis.
The recent floods have wreaked havoc across 12 districts in Bangladesh, leaving many residents in desperate need of assistance.
In response to the disaster, the BAF has been actively engaged in rescuing stranded individuals and delivering essential relief supplies via air-drop.
Brac Bank’s Chairperson, Meheriar M Hasan, emphasized the bank’s role as a responsible corporate entity.
He said: “This is our duty as a responsible corporate entity. As part of Brac, we have always stood by the people of Bangladesh. We are committed to them.”
Selim RF Hussain, managing director and CEO of Brac Bank, expressed his support for the initiative, saying: “This contribution reflects how committed we are to supporting our communities in their time of need.
“We believe our support will have a meaningful impact on alleviating the suffering of those who have been hit hardest by these floods,” he added.
