A Dhaka court has ordered to file a First Information Report (FIR) against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 47 others in connection with the murder of Md Shahabul Islam Shawon, a clothes vendor in Ashulia.
Advocate Hannan Bhuiyan filed an application to file a case in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Arifa Chowdhury Himel in Dhaka.
The court recorded the plaintiff's statement and directed the Ashulia police station to register the complaint as a First Information Report (FIR).
Advocate Hannan Bhuiyan confirmed the matter on Thursday.
Among the prominent accused in the case are former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former Law Minister Anisul Huq, and others.
The case alleges that during the anti-discrimination student movement, Shawon was shot dead on August 4.
