Anti-discrimination Student Movement launches 17-member health subcommittee

The Anti-discrimination Student Movement has formed a 17-member central health subcommittee in coordination with the government's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The announcement of this committee was made at a press conference held at the office of the Dhaka University Journalists' Association on Wednesday afternoon.

One of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, Tarekul Islam, and the newly made member secretary of the central health subcommittee, delivered a written speech and published a press release at the press conference.

This committee will be responsible for compiling a list of those killed and injured during the anti-discrimination student and public movement and providing overall assistance, said the release.

According to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, all members of the health subcommittee have been issued verified ID cards by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Highlighting the urgent guidelines, Tarekul Islam said: "No member of this committee will be involved in any kind of financial transaction. If anyone, under the guise of being a coordinator or any other identity, tries to collect false donations or money, the central health subcommittee will not be responsible for it.”

He further requested that for sending information about the injured or deceased, contact the health ministry's number.

In this newly formed health subcommittee, Nahida Bushra has been made the convener and Tarequl Islam the member secretary.

Other members include Abdullah Ibn Hanif Arian, Md Masud Uzzaman, Md Rasel Mahmud, Md Riaz Uddin Sakib, and 11 other members.

Abdullah Ibn Hanif Arian, Md Masud Uzzaman, Dr Md Moniruzzaman, and many others from the anti-discrimination student movement were also present at the press conference.
