Bangladesh’s newly appointed chief justice, Syed Refaat Ahmed, paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing wreaths at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar on Monday.
He arrived at the memorial in Savar by road at 7:15am.
Judges of the High Court and the Appellate Division were present with him.
After placing wreaths at the altar of the martyrs, he signed the visitor's book of the memorial.
After the formalities, he left the memorial at around 7:30am.
