Protest organizers to place framework for govt

Key coordinator of the Students Against Discrimination movement will present a framework for national governance on Monday night

Asif Mahmud, one of the movement's key figures, made the announcement during a live television program, saying the framework would be unveiled at a press conference scheduled at 8pm at Saarc Fountain in Karwan Bazar.

Earlier in the day, the movement declared that power must be handed over to an interim national government and no other government would be accepted.

Two of the coordinators, Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud, made this announcement in a joint statement.

Asif Mahmud posted this statement on Facebook as well.

Fascists and murderers will be tried on the soil of Bangladesh; no one will be given a chance to escape, the statement further said.

“By evening, innocent individuals, political prisoners, and the disappeared will be freed. It's not just about the resignation of Sheikh Hasina's government, but also about dismantling the fascist system to build a new Bangladesh and political structure. No one will leave the streets without achieving ultimate victory,” it added.
