Out of the 826 inmates who escaped from Narsingdi District Jail, 261 surrendered till Wednesday afternoon.
The incident of the inmates attacking and looting arms at the jail was reported on Sunday.
The inmates surrendered through the Narsingdi District and Sessions Judge Court.
The matter was confirmed by District Bar Association President Kazi Nazmul Islam.
Of these, 138 surrendered on Tuesday and 123 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the district administration is setting up microphones in various parts of the city for the escaped inmates to surrender.
Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff Waker-uz-Zaman visited Narsingdi District Jail at 1:30pm on Wednesday.
Narsingdi District Jail is located near the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Bhelanagar in the city.
