DU campus on edge as quota reform protesters, Chhatra League take positions

Hundreds of quota reform protesters and members of the Chhatra League have gathered at the Dhaka University campus following the announcement of their counter-programs on Tuesday.

Chhatra League leaders and activists began gathering near the DU’s Raju Memorial Sculpture around 2:30pm, equipped with helmets and sticks.

Simultaneously, students were seen near the Central Shaheed Minar around 3:15pm, also carrying sticks.

In response to the escalating tensions, the Dhaka University administration held an emergency proctorial meeting and implemented five decisions to control the situation.

These measures include prohibiting outsiders from carrying sticks or firearms during student processions and restricting outsiders from entering the campus.
