Dhaka University (DU) authorities on Monday directed its hall authorities to keep the dormitories free from outsiders.
They have also asked them to strengthen security on the campus.
The directive was given at an emergency meeting chaired by DU VC Prof ASM Maksud Kamal.
Meanwhile, the quota protesters, who were attacked and chased out of the Dhaka University campus by the university unit Chhatra League activists, said they will bring out another procession later on Monday.
Nahid Islam, one of the organizers of the protests, confirmed the matter.
The Dhaka University unit of the Chhatra League has taken full control of the DU campus after an hour-long clash and chase counter-chase with agitated students protesting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's remarks about their movement.
Witnesses said after the procession around 3pm Monday, a section of the protesters went to DU’s Bijoy Ekattor Hall demanding quota reform.
When they tried to enter the gate of the hall, Chhatra League activists threw shoes at them. Then the protesters, in response, threw brickbats -- resulting in a clash.
Being chased, the protesters moved towards the Central Shaheed Minar through Fuller Road and the VC Chattar.
After the incident, the Chhatra League activists took full control of the campus after almost an hour.
Hundreds of people were injured in the clashes.
