Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman has again warned the anti-quota protesters and asked them to follow court orders.
“There is an obligation to obey the court order. If anyone does any activity to violate law and order, it will not be tolerated,” he said while talking to reporters after virtually joining a program on the premises of Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in the capital's Segunbagicha area on Friday.
The DMP commissioner said the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has stayed for one month on the High Court verdict on quota system in government jobs.
“Everyone should have faith and respect for the court,” he added.
Quota reform protesters have now announced campus-wide demonstrations for Friday.
Protest rallies and processions will be held on the campuses of all educational institutions across the country.
This demonstration is in response to attacks on protesters at various locations during Thursday’s Bangla Blockade program.
