Unauthorized electrolyte drink marketing: Arrest warrant against Rafsan the Chotobhai

A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against popular YouTuber Iftekhar Rafsan alias Rafsan the Chotobhai.

Judge Alaul Akbar of Pure Food Court passed the order on Thursday.

He has been accused of marketing unauthorized energy drinks “Blu”.

Food Inspector Kamrul Hossain of Bangladesh Food Safety Authority said Rafsan's product Blu drink has no approval.

Earlier, the Food Inspector of Dhaka South City Corporation Kamrul Hassan applied to the court as the Blu Drinks was unapproved.

Even the drug administration does not know whether these products are drugs or drinks, he said.

A mobile court raided an unauthorized factory of Iftekhar Rafsan's Blu Drinks on April 24.

Based on secret information, the district administration and BSTI's mobile court conducted raids in the Comilla BSIC area.

At that time, the company was fined Tk30,000 for manufacturing, packaging and marketing electrolyte drink products without registration.

On December 7 last year, Rafsan announced the launch of his electrolyte drink “Blue.” Initially, he started marketing the drink in different locations around the country in two flavours: litchi and watermelon.
