The highest temperature of the country recorded at 41.6°C in Mongla of Bagerhat on Wednesday.
Severe heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajshahi,
Pabna, Faridpur and Gopalgonj, according to a weather forecast issued Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday.
A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barisal division and rest part of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and the districts of Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noahkali, Feni and Bandarban and it may continue.
Earlier on Saturday, Mongla recorded 41.7°C in the district.
Among other districts, Chuadanga, Jessore and Pabna’s Ishwardi recorded the highest temperature of 41.2°C.
Meanwhile, Dhaka’s highest temperature was recorded at 39.2°C.
The BMD data also shows that Chuadanga recorded 2mm rain in the last 24 hours.
